Right Angle Cross of the Vessel of Love: Incarnation Cross Meaning

5 min read
An equal-armed cross of four glowing points on a faint mandala wheel, held within a soft rounded vessel of light.

The G centre holds eight gates that can form a cross, and they split cleanly into two sets of four. The Right Angle Cross of the Sphinx takes gates 1, 2, 7 and 13. The Right Angle Cross of the Vessel of Love takes the remaining ones: 10, 15, 25 and 46. Its first variant reads 25/46 | 10/15, with the Personality Sun in Spirit of the Self and the Personality Earth in Love of the Body, over a Design Sun in Behavior of the Self and a Design Earth in Extremes. As a Right Angle cross it describes personal destiny, with profiles from 1/3 to 4/6.

The eight G-centre gates, split in two

Both crosses stay inside one centre, which makes the comparison direct. The Sphinx gates are Self-Expression, Direction of the Self, Role of the Self and The Listener. The Vessel of Love gates are Behavior of the Self, Extremes, Spirit of the Self and Love of the Body. One reading hears the Sphinx names as pointing toward where a life is heading and the Vessel names as pointing toward how a self is lived in the body and among others. Since the G centre is linked to identity, direction and love, one way to see the split is as the identity half and the love half of the same centre.

Spirit of the Self meeting Love of the Body

Gates 25 and 46 are opposite each other on the wheel and always share one side of the cross, the conscious one in the first variant, 25/46 | 10/15. Both belong to the G centre. One way to hear the pair is a sense of the spiritual set beside regard for the body, though the gate names say little more than that. This is interpretation, and nothing in the cross requires a person to experience it that way.

Behavior of the Self and Extremes

The second pair is gate 10, Behavior of the Self, with gate 15, Extremes, again wheel opposites in the G centre. In the first variant these two form the Design side, the less conscious half, and in the second variant, 15/10 | 25/46, they move to the Personality side. One reading sets conduct beside range. The gate names support that only loosely, so it is best held lightly.

Gates 10, 15, 25 and 46 all sit in the G centre, and no channel is formed among them.

Six channels against the Sphinx's four

Each gate of this cross reaches for partners outside it. Gate 25 pairs with gate 51 in Initiation and gate 46 with gate 29 in Discovery. Gate 15 pairs with gate 5 in Rhythm. Gate 10 is the busiest: it belongs to 10-34, Exploration, 10-20, Awakening, and 10-57, Perfected Form, with partners in the Sacral, Throat and Spleen. That makes six channels in all, against four for the Sphinx, where each gate has a single partner. None of these channels is complete from the cross alone, so a Vessel of Love chart gets its motor, voice or intuition from what else is defined. The partners are gate 51 in the Heart, gates 29, 5 and 34 in the Sacral, gate 20 in the Throat and gate 57 in the Spleen.

Four Sun windows, each one a G-centre gate

The Personality Sun gives the variant. It is in gate 25 around March 18 to 24, in gate 15 around June 19 to 25, in gate 46 around September 21 to 26 and in gate 10 around December 20 to 25, shifting by a day from year to year. In every window the Sun is in a G-centre gate, as it is for the Sphinx. Because the Design Sun and Earth have to match and the profile has to be a Right Angle one, a date in a window is a prompt to check a chart and not a result.

Carrying a G-centre cross with an open G centre

Because a gate alone never defines a centre, carrying the Vessel of Love does not mean the G centre is defined. A person with an open G centre can still carry either G-centre cross. One way to read that case is that the theme is met through other people and surroundings more than through a fixed inner sense of self. The same is true of the Sphinx: neither G-centre cross defines the centre on its own, because none of its four gates has a channel partner inside the cross. The cross names four activations, and the chart as a whole decides how steadily they are felt. Whether the G centre is defined or open comes from channels elsewhere in the bodygraph, such as 25-51, 29-46 or 10-20, once both of their gates are active.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this cross the same as the Sphinx because both use the G centre?

No. Both crosses use only G-centre gates, but they use different sets of them. The Sphinx takes gates 1, 2, 7 and 13, while the Vessel of Love takes 10, 15, 25 and 46. Sharing a centre does not make two crosses the same.

How quickly does the Sun pass through the Vessel of Love gates?

Each gate takes roughly five to six days. The Sun is in gate 25 around March 18 to 24, gate 15 around June 19 to 25, gate 46 around September 21 to 26 and gate 10 around December 20 to 25, with dates that can vary by about a day from one year to the next.

Who tends to carry the Vessel of Love, and how do I confirm it?

Anyone whose Personality Sun is in one of its four gates may, but a birthday cannot confirm it. The Design Sun and Earth must complete the quartet, as in 25/46 | 10/15 for the first variant, and the profile must fall in the Right Angle range of 1/3 to 4/6.

How much of my chart does a G-centre cross decide?

Very little on its own. The cross is four activations and defines no centre, since only complete channels do that. It marks a theme of self, body and love, while energy, voice and decision-making come from other parts of the bodygraph.
